I chose a painting by Jean Pederson called "Papa's Fiddle." I thought this was a good painting for me to study and recreate because it has a good sense of contrast, which I tend to lack in my paintings because I don't use dark enough values. I thought the shape finding in this painting was really beautiful as well, and did a good job using warm and cool neutrals in her shadows, which I lacked in my homework. I chose this painting for those reasons, and also the color pallette was similar to that which we've been using.
