For this homework assignment I chose to paint a portrait by David Park. In this painting (Nude Green), he does a great job of showing the contrast between the highlights and shadows on the figure. I feel that a major thing I am lacking in my own paintings is this sort of contrast. I know that I'm somewhat hesitant in using dark colors for my shadows, and that my range of values doesn't have as much contrast as it potentially could, so I'm hoping by studying this master copy that I can improve this sort of technique and use of color.
