Melissa Scott's Pick of the Week II

I have always enjoyed the work of Toulouse-Lautrec. This is one of his pieces of the Moulin de la Galette.

  1. This painting shares similarities to some of Toulouse-Lautrec's work, most obviously, I'd say, in its emphasis on strong diagonals and a crowded overlapping of figures to create space, but it's actually by one of his contemporaries, Auguste Renoir.
