This is Bathsheba with King David's letter, by Rembrandt. He is reknown for his skill in chiaroscuro. The bold contrasts between the figure and the background effects the temperature changes within the figure, making them appear extremely subtle. There are places in the figure where warm tones become cool, the bright yellow cools into a purple or orange tone as the light curls around her body.
